Boat Insurance
Although Florida law doesn't require recreational boat owners to carry insurance,
maintaining liability protection is crucial. In the absence of coverage, you could be held
personally liable for expenses arising from an accident, injuries to others, or damage to
another boat. Boaters often incorrectly believe that their homeowner's insurance provides protection
for maritime incidents; however, most standard policies offer minimal to no coverage
for boat-related liability or physical damage.

Motorcycle Insurance
Florida does not legally require motorcycle insurance to register or ride your bike.
However, if you cause an accident, you are personally liable for injuries and
property damage. Additionally, if you want to ride without a helmet, you
must carry at least $10,000 in medical insurance.
While it is not mandated, it is highly recommended to carry liability coverage. For
more details on the state's financial responsibility rules, check the Florida
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Golf Carts
In Florida, standard golf carts (top speed under 20 mph) do not legally require
insurance, registration, or a driver's license if operated strictly within private
communities or designated golf courses.
However, insurance is required by state law if your cart is registered as a
Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV). An LSV is street-legal, can travel between 20 and 25
mph, and is equipped with features like seat belts, headlights, and a VIN. If your
cart qualifies as an LSV, you must carry a minimum of $10,000 in Personal Injury
Protection (PIP) and $10,000 in Property Damage Liability (PDL).
